I flew home to Maryland for a week. It was fun. I got to see my family and also be a part of my best friend's wedding! Sarah Carr was my roommate during my freshman year in Hawaii and coincidentally, she is from Philadelphia which made the Washington DC temple the place to get married! The wedding was beautiful!
August 16th was my sister Rae's birthday. We celebrated by going to Sakura, a Japanese habachi grill. My mom also made some amazing baked alaska. I got her a cute outfit from Forever 21. While back home I did some shopping back home at a couple of my favorite stores, Urban Outfitters and H&M.
I did temple baptisms with the youth while at home and spent some time with my family. We saw the movie No Reservations, which was cute. I also, of course, visited my second family- the Chevys Fresh Mex group! My bosses Mimi and Sharon, and co-workers that have seen me grow up over the years were very happy to have me visit.
I'd have to say though, the best part about being home was, of course, getting my ticket for free! I used a travel voucher that I had acquired last Christmas for an oversold flight. That's the way to go! I'm now back in Provo and staying with sisters until I can move into my new condo. Classes start a week from today and I'm working as much as possible until then so I can pay for my $500 textbooks.

Hiking Mount Nebo
Today was very eventful and exhausting. It consisted of hiking Mount Nebo, the tallest mountain in the Wassatch Front and making a several attempts at wake-skating.
I set off this morning with friends Corey and Jonathan from the ward to hike Mount Nebo. Corey had locked his keys in his car and so we didn't get going as early as we had hoped but still made it up to the trailhead pretty early. We followed the Nebo Scenic Byway Loop for a while before making it to the trailhead. The trail immediately started out pretty steep. We climbed several peaks, each getting steeper until we reached the North Summit. The views of the rolling mountains below were beautiful. We had perfect weather and slowly but surely made it to the top. Mt Nebo is at 11,928 ft. It got a little cold while up at the top. Corey and Johnathan took several pictures from the summit. I failed to bring my camera so pictures to go along with this post will just have to wait until I get them from the guys. Coming back down was extremely dangerous and included several pretty embarrassing slips on the rocks. We all made it down safely, though much later than usual. The hike was strenuous, but totally worth it to once again be on top of the world. Last weekend, Jonathan and I, along with his brother Josh hiked to the summit of Mount Timpanogos. We definitely encountered fewer people on this hike and found more rapid elevation gain. The day was enjoyable and I felt pretty physically prepared.
Upon returning to Windsor Park, where we all live, I joined the two of them and Steve, another from the ward, to go wake-skating at a canal up near Spanish Fork. I have never boarded at all before so it was definitely a first of its kind for me. It took me several attempts to actually get up. With everyone's coaching I eventually was able to get up. It was really fun and I enjoyed watching Steve, Corey, and Jonathan attempt cool moves.
We all returned even more exhausted, but it was all in all a lot of fun!
I also registered for my classes for Fall Semester at BYU just yesterday. After much deliberation, I decided to join a friend Jarom in Section 2, which is the morning section with professors Johnson, Sommers, and Zimbelman. I later found out another friend Robert registered for the same section. Fall Semester is right around the corner, and I'm not gonna lie... I'm kinda excited. :)

First Post
This blog is pretty much just a story of the adventures in my life- beginning with Provo, Utah- where I am attending Brigham Young University. I transfered after doing a year at Brigham Young University Hawaii located on the North Shore of Oahu. I am entering the Accounting Junior Core in the Fall. Between working for the church as a database administrator and doing some intense school I want to explore as much as possible so here you will be able to read about the exciting happenings in my life!
